Support Public Schools!
My journey to the School Board started as a student at East Millbrook. I graduated from Millbrook High & spent more than four years working for the district. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from NCSU & Master of Public Administration from ECU. I am an educator with experience teaching for adult high school and GED.
Through many years as an adult educator at two community colleges, I learned how important the elementary, middle, and high school years are to future success. I am committed to equity initiatives that nurture diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Closing the achievement gap is my priority. I also want to build trust between the District, families, and community members.
Students are my number one focus. Educators are our greatest assets in the work we do to prepare our students for success. It is critical to recruit, retain, and reward those who give so much of themselves to this District.
Our schools are connected to our communities. As a volunteer manager, I am passionate about engaging service-minded individuals to support our work.

Through a rigorous interview process, I was appointed to complete the unexpired term of former Board Chair, Mr. Keith Sutton. Representing District 4 on the Wake Board of Education is an honor. My children attend Wake County Public Schools, and I look forward to the opportunity to advocate for nearly 160,000 students at 198 schools. I need your vote to continue this important work.
Thank you for your support!
